Why do you need a snagging inspection?

Even the best built new homes have problems. With so many different contractors collaborating on projects, some things get missed, rushed or damaged, or are simply not delivered up to standard.

However, to the untrained eye, even significant issues can get missed. While your developer will conduct their own quality checks, it’s not in their interest to look with the same eagle-eye precision that an independent snagging surveyor will!

What is the new build snagging period allowance?

While new builds are covered by a 10 year NHBC warranty, your developer’s warranty will generally expire after two years – so if you have any concerns, it’s essential to have an independent snagging survey carried out within this two year period. 

That said, snagging really is a case of the sooner the better. If we inspect a property within the first seven days of ownership, our surveyors will be able to pick up key items such as scratches on sanitary ware, kitchens and any other forms of damage. 

After a period of 12 months these and many other types of issues can be put down to 'wear and tear' by your developer, our snagging survey's always focus on technical construction details that could impact the property - and your pocket - if they have been installed incorrectly.

I couldn’t recommended Snagsure enough!
